Hi everybody,

I am a bit fed up of receiving help request every day from people that cannot understand that I have something else to do than just helping them. I have also discovered that a few people are "spamming" for help (sending the same request to 5-10 maybe more people).  I am seriously considering turning the private messaging totally off to avoid people answering to others being annoyed by these guys.

What do you think of this ?

Re: Do you use private messaging ?
I generally ignore message requesting help via the PM system.  My view is that if it is worth asking, then ask it on the forum.  If I know the answer, I will respond on the forum.  Turning PM off will not affect me.

The box said 'Windows 98 or better'. Why is it not working on Linux?

Re: Do you use private messaging ?
In the past I have had unsolicited PMs and been spammed and it is annoying however PMing may have its uses. You are probably a special case as you probably receive 10s if not 100s times more PMs than anybody else and its probably not such a big problem for the vast majority of users.
Could you maybe post a warning message on the PM page telling people not to abuse the system/not to personally PM yourself with technical questions and repeat offenders will be banned?
