I would think not. I cant think of a way to do this unless u are using some very accurate GPS devices on the phone or you could use cell ID to get an approximation if the distance is quiet far or maybe just call your friend and ask him "Where are you buddy?" Is there a practical reason why you want to do this?

i think it would be a nice application, for example i'll move to a new apartment next week, i had to measure all rooms with a meter, i wished my phone can do it, with a high accuracy and my brother is an architect, i'm sure he would pay for such an application

i suppose there are devices measuring distance with infra,
or sound waves (as automatic cameras),

The Bluetooth and IR on the mobile phone are for communication and not for measuring distance. Obviously you can'tdo it
