PC client invoking Phone service via IRDA

Hi,

I'm looking to develope some services that run on a phone which are activated from a PC via the infra-red port.

I've seen some stuff on the nokia site to create services over blue-tooth in this way, and presume it's fairly similar - just a different physical layer?

Has anybody done this/have any snippets of code I can test with?
