Hi,

i installed the Symbian Connect QI SDK on my computer and build the shipped Example (in particular SymbianExampleFileBrowser, also tried DeviceStorageBrowser). When i run them, both are unable to detect the device (it's a Nokia Communicator 9300).

I think it correlates to Nokia PC Suite, it doesn't use the m-router but i'm not sure. Does anyone have some exprience and can tell if thats right. Is there any possibity to establish a connection to my mobile?

Thanks in advance
Tom

... i forgot that the phone is connected by the supplied cable  (USB DKU-2)

Well, I can tell you that Connect QI _only_ works over mRouter, so if your 9300 doesn't connect with mRouter, it wont work with QI.  Your best bet is to uninstall the connetivity suite that came with the 9300, then install QI.  QI will install mRouter, and there should be a USB option in the connection options.  Tick it, connect the phone, and if the 9300 does use it, it will connect.  If the 9300 uses OBEX, it wont, and QI wont work with it. I'm not familar with the 9300, so I can't say without researching it, its probably easiest just to try it.

The 9300 does not ship with device-side m-Router components, it uses Nokia's OBEX connectivity solution.  As such it will not work with the QI SDK.  The same is true of the 9500.

Re: Symbian Connect QI and Nokia Communicator 9300 won't work
Nokia dropped the Intuwave-based m-router from its PC connectivity solution for Symbian phones with Series 60 2.1 (Series 60 2nd Edition, Feature Pack 1) and Series 80 2.0 (and from the 7710, foirmerly Series 90 1.0) and, as mentioned, uses nowadays OBEX over Bluetooth, IrDA or USB.

PC Suite 6.1 and later supports that. Current version is PC Suite 6.5.

If your company is a Forum Nokia PRO member, you can from the Forum Nokia PRO site (http://pro.forum.nokia.com/) download the PC Suite API headers, library files, documentation and sample apps (apps using the PC Suite API needs PC Suite 6.5 or later to be installed on the PC).
