Bluetooth Virtual Serial Port for 7610 --need help

Genius that makes decisions on Nokia decided to make Nokia 7610 supporting the "SPP" but not loading any dll or smth to activate it. I would like to connect PC and phone through bluetooth serial port, failed a hundred times. Documentary reports it does support SPP but does not say they did not load it. Can anyone help me to find a software & create a software (for s60 platform of 7610) just to establish a SPP connection? Thnx for help!

I'm doing exactly that... Take a look at the BTPointToPoint example of the SDK!!

It should work, but if you have problem you can write to me...

Thanks a lot Corben, now that I know at least one person is dealing with this problem.. I actually work on engineering programming, not with communication technology, so probably gonna have a little problem with coding by myself. Still reading the tutorial docs. Did you have a progress in this subject, like you have written a app or sis for it? (I am here if you are looking for testers)   Wink

Are you trying to make a communication between two phones or phone and Pc?

My program is Pc-phone, via the virtual com port of bluetooth.

If you only need phone-to-phone I think that the SDK example is more clear and neat...
If you are interested in Pc-to-phone I can send you what I did. Even if by now it is a work in progress the communication works!

Corben,  thank you for your interest. I asked Nokia, they tried to explain me why they did not put serial port connection to 7610. They now say 7610 does not support it, even in documentary it writes it will support  a  serial port profile (even there is no software inside).. So I really would like to test it if you can send me what you did, is it in a .sis format? Did you ever test it in a phone that does not have SPP active but able to support it?  my email is mealos_culpa@yahoo.com  msn ooktay@hotmail.com ..  cant wait to see if it will work on 7610  Smiley
