Hello Newlcians, Could anyone tell me whether I can start Internet connection during a voice call (e.g. ringing or answering)? I want to make a HTTP connection when the phone rings. I am using Symbian 3rd edition E61 (OS 9.1) and testing in INDIA (Calcutta). My application crashes when i am starting http request during a ringing. I would also like to like to know what type of Network is required for such connection. Please Help if anyone know about this pointer. Thanks in advance, tushar Tushar Bhattacharyya |

I've made some tests for you. I've launched a web browser, connected to the Internet (nokia.com), put the application into background ant opened a voice call.
- On 2G network (GPRS) the data connection is suspended during a voice call.
- On 3G network the data connection is active despite the voice call.
The tests were done in Poland

Thanks for your information.
Though my service provider says that the network is 3G but i have tested that with blackberry mail service that when i receive a call there is a notify dialog saying "Data connection on hold".
So i think my connection is behaviouring like 2G (as you says). Well, then i have to consider 2G network as my connection during my programming.
Thanks a lot for your time.
