xml parser

The 'SMIL Parser and Composer' api included in the UIQ sdk includes classes for reading and writing xml, but they don't seem to work on my p800. I get a panic stating 'not found' and not much more. Can anyone explain this?
I did found the 'expat' with which you can parse xml files nicely, but you cannot compose xml with it.
