Bluetooth com port problems

I am about to start a new project where I will be needing to use bluetooth with the EPOC emulator running on my laptop. My bluetooth devices is a D-Link DBT-120 USB dongle and my computer is running Windows XP Pro.
I am able to connect to a mobile phone (pair the computer with the phone), using the Widcomm software shipped with the product, and for instance send AT-commands trough HyperTerminal and get responses. The Nokia documentation however (Setting Up And Using Bluetooth Hardware With Development Tools, Version 1.0), says that being able to use bluetooth, the device needs to be connected to a COM port lower than 10. When I install my software it automatically uses COM 11 and 12 and I have found absolutely no way to change this in Windows XP. Usually it is done using the Device Manager, but this option does not appear to be available with bluetooth. Trying to active bluetooth in the emulator now gives me a 'System Error -21'. If anyone has a fully working Emulator+USB development environment, please let me know how you managed to get things to work. In desperate need of help, Pink Lemonade |
