It really depends what your application does. Check the API breaks in 9.1 and S60 3rd edition....
Most of the change concerns Platform Security and simple applications can run almost directly on 9.1 with only a recompilation after light adaptation of the MMP and PKG files. You should also introduce a registration file instead of your AIF one.
