Is Skype really released video call features in 2.5 G network?

Hello,

One of my friends informed me that skype released some kind of beta version of video call features in 2.5 G network. I tried to search it in internet. I could not find any information related to this issue. If this information is real, could anybody point me to some useful link? Are there any other company released such kind of services yet?

I doubt it very much. While IP-based video calls could be made using 2.5G, but the network speeds (especially the uplink from the device to the network) are not that high. Making such calls would probably be rather costly, too.
