how to navigate forum?

hi eric, this new forum theme looks pretty good but i'm missing something as compared to old one. here i don't know how to find all new posts and answer to my posts by just one click as happened in old look. " Hey, prashu, you have 20 messages, 0 are new. 01 December 2005, 16:29:39" in this welcome section in old look two options was there one to find all new posts since last login, and one option for reply to my post. where they are? I tried to simplify as much as possible the look of the forum and as I did not use these option very much, I suppressed them (I mostly read the forum through the RSS feed).
I will see if I can add them back....
