Hello developers,

It is possible to download a file from a wep site without going through the browser ?
Will Bio Message help me in this case ?
Does all the symbian phone support bio messageing?
Can some one give me a clue how to go about it?

Thanks,

Mobile guy

See HTTP Client Overview from your SDK docs.

Re: File Download
The answer is yes. You can use the http API for this, just get the file using the protocol as usual. Also, you could write your own FTP client to do the same. Also, you could write a software for the server your mobile client app connects to and starts downloading data. How do you think the people developed the browsers and other apps that download files from the net could do that if you couldn't?

Hi  Andreas,

Let me explain again my motive . I want to send a Message to a mobile phone , By which when the user opens the message it downloads a file from a WAP site without going through the browser .  Does Bio Messageing help me with that ?

Thanks man !!!!!!!
