Hi,

I'm currently developing a game for Symbian 60 phones which I hope will be something fairly unique. Its my first time doing this for a mobile device and I have absolutely no experience of how-to market it when finished.

I want to try and make a profit from it but I can't find any resources on methods to market, distribute or sell mobile games successfully as a non-professional 'bedroom' Symbian developer.

Can anyone point me in the direction of online guides or personal experiences for:

- Completing a Symbian game for sale
- Best way to easily sell a game (directly, through reseller (Jamster etc), others)
- How to contact companies that maybe interested
- Marketing your game
- Accepting payments either from the public or resellers
- Copyrights and copy protection methods
- Pitfalls for the small developer
- Howto turn a decent profit & legal issues
- Creating a buisness identity

Any advice would be a great help as my internet searching has turned up nothing. I know this is a very big area with no particular right way to do it, but any personal success stories and guidance would be really good.

Cheers,
Chris.

To be honest, I'm not experiences in this area either, but my friend is selling his games through Handange and Nokia Software Market. As far as I remember he gets more money through Nokia SM as more people visit that site, or at least they spend their money more easily.  Tongue

I suggest you to check out these sites, see the conditions, perhaps contact them if you're uncertain about a few things.

Cheers,

I'm in the same situation as you are (and many others too I think..). It would be interesting to get an answer from somebody who has done this before. (selling, marketing...)
