Samsung Electronics became the first LiMo phone maker in the world. LiMo is the linux based operation system for mobile phone.
It announced on February 19 that it will supply the world’s first commercial LiMo phones to Orange, a UK affiliate of France Telecom, as early as this month or within the first half at latest.
LiMo is the mobile linux based operation system. It also refers to the LiMo Foundation, an industry consortium dedicated to creating linux-based operating system for mobile devices, organized by eighteen mobile phone makers and mobile carriers. Currently, it has 32 member companies including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Motorola, NEC and Panasonic. Member companies exhibited eighteen prototypes of LiMo phones at the MWC 2008
