Based on the authors' experiences in developing and teaching Symbian OS, this book is a good introduction to S60 / Symbian OS development for beginners. The authors will show you the step-by-step construction of a black-jack card games and bluetooth messaging application. So a good choice to understand all the steps involved in this and for the reader which want a "guide" rather than a reference book.
The code snippet are quite clear and well explained but the book doesn't go very deep into error handling, descriptors, active objects and other Symbian OS basics (if this is what you need, Symbian OS C++ for Mobile Phones is probably a better choice).
So a good book for the beginner which has a bit of practice with Symbian OS basics and need to understand a bit more about the structure and development of a small application. The chapter concerning bluetooth is quite advanced and interesting: it can be a reason to buy it even if you are already experienced with S60.
