Want to play with Android but don't have a device ? Here is the Android Live CD. Of course it won't replace a real device but it is a good solution if you are just curious about the operating system.

Native development on the Android platform shouldn't be considered as a hack in the near future. The forthcoming release of the Android NDK will open official door to native code for applications. Or more exactly, Java application will be able to access some native code and libraries.

The official release of the Android 1.5 SDK is now available! This new SDK brings the following improvements: support for multiple versions of the Android platform, Android Virtual Devices, Support for SDK add-ons, new Eclipse ADT plugin, etc....

An early look version of the next version of the Android SDK (v1.5, cupcake branch) is now available. This version introduces some new APIs targeted at soft keyboards, home screen widgets, speech recognition, etc... and it also includes the Google Maps API that were part of the code SDK.
