Memory Monitor

Keywords :

mem-monitor.pngMemory Monitor is a useful application to view the memory usage of your Series 60 phone (Nokia 7650, 3650 and forthcoming SX1, SGH-D700). The fact that it can monitor the heap usage of a single thread over time may be useful if you need to check the evolution of the memory usage of your code over time (this is especially true if you code a server).

Seems like a great program. When I try to install it on my Nokia 3650 the .sis installer says "File not compatible with phone" and I'm forced to abandon the installation process. Any idea why this is happening?

Soumis par Marcus Groeber (non vérifié) le ven, 2003-07-25 20:37.

I can confirm this... it looks like the .SIS file was created without the magic line

(0x101F6F88), 0, 0, 0, ("Series60ProductID")

in the .pkg file that indicates the platform required for installing it (Series 60 0.9 and up).

[Note that the second pair of brackets should be curly braces, but the forum software seems to insist of making them mean "italics"...]

Soumis par eric (non vérifié) le ven, 2003-07-25 21:08.

The forum software interprets curly braces:

 {text} = text
 {{text}} = text

You can use ... tags to prevent their interpretation.

Is someone going to fix this, so we can try it?

Soumis par Anonymous le lun, 2003-08-04 08:53.

If think this has become a commercial product. So I would be very surprised if it is solved one day.

Soumis par Anonymous le mar, 2003-08-05 08:35.

Yeah, I must admit that I did make it shareware rather than commercial. But it has been optimised now, and with more functions.

There should no longer be any issues with installation error messages.

I am having this problem with my Nokia 7650!? With programs that I KNOW worked previously, but now I have had my firmware updated, they programs won't work. I read the following on a site about later Nokia firmware versions: SIS installation includes now a version check. If Series60 installables with version information has not been updated, a warning note is displayed when installing SIS (full details from Forum Nokia). BUT - I could not find ANY information about this problem from Nokia. Please tell me if anyone can help!?

I just hot the other button that said don't abandon install and all works well.

it seems the DevMan can't show the correct memory info of a running app :(

Soumis par Anonymous le dim, 2003-08-31 09:08.

Could you please submit some details of what you mean by this?

I haven't had any other comments of a similar problem.

I doubt it too. Can the developer show us code how the application get heap usage?

Soumis par mayhem (non vérifié) le jeu, 2004-01-29 12:12.

hmm.. now I get it. it doesn't show heap usage. it shows heap size...

Soumis par cedric (non vérifié) le mar, 2004-09-21 10:42.

User::Heap().Compress();

But memory monitor release more memory that i do ?

Thx in advance
