Tapping native Incoming & Outgoing SMS / MMS messages? what's the "verdict"?

Hey,

I am facing this problem and must provide a quick evaluation... please help!!! tried to search past feeds, couldnt find the "verdict" to this topic

is it possible somehow to "hook" on the normal sms/mms at the point of send/receive and invoke some app to do a manipulation or something like that?

symbian? also j2me?

You can write your own MTM to do this.
Not sure you can modify received SMS on the fly (at least you can be notified of incoming SMS, read them, process them but I don't think you can modify them directly. At least you should be able to recreate a new SMS with the processed result and delete the original SMS).

more important - do you know by any chance if I can somehow tap the outgoing SMS/MMS ?
