Skin/Theme in CEikGlobalTextEditor control?

Is there an easy way of showing the current skin/theme in the background of the CEikGlobalTextEditor control?

My BaseConstruct already has the appropriate skinEnable flag that allows me to see the
current theme in the background of my list boxes. However, my CEikGlobalTextEditor editor control remains white.
