Mount device on Linux/Unix?

Hi all, First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask my question, however, since I couldn't find any better I post it here. So my question is short and simple: can I mount the filesystem of my SOS v9.x device to a Linux/Unix machine? I'm basically concerned of security and unsure regarding whether Symbian left this door open. Thanks for your kind help in advance, Tote Gabor Torok |

I have read several times already from people who should know that modern Symbian devices have no open ports in their default state.
So far I encountered only one product that would make such a mount possible (in a controlled fashion, of course, after the server is installed on the phone). It is called SymSMB:

And most (or at least all Nokia's) Symbian 9.x devices support USB mass storage class (sometimes called "data transfer") mode, when connecting through USB cable. In that setup, all the devices are visible just like a removable USB memory "stick", or an USB card reader with a card inserted.

Yes, I know that, I use it quite extensively. However, that allows you to access only the memory card in your phone, not the built-in flash drive (i.e. C:). I was just looking for something similar to p3nfs, but on SOS v9. And of course it's for security reasons: I wanted to know whether it's possible to cheat Symbian's PlatSec this way - I need it for a security audit.
Thanks guys,
Tote

The aforementioned SymSMB could (should) presumably work with with Samba on Linux/UNIX.
I don't know of any NFS servers for Symbian.
