Hi,

I have some queries on the mentioned subject. When we use mobile as dial-up modem from a PC, we have a PPP connection between PC and the Mobile.

As per my understanding this connection can be set up using a PPP launcher daemon, which will create a controlpath via TSY ->CSY to the serial port (used for connection between PC and Mobile). This daemon should be running before we connect the Mobile to PC. Then PC will send some AT commands to dial and setting a connection to internet.

Here I am not sure that this commands from PC to Mobile will come in form of data or control. If its a form of data then we have to create a PPP NIF datapath for PC and Mobile too.

Some doubts:

1. Do we need to create two data paths - one for PC<->Mobile and one for Application Processor<->Baseband Processor (assuming AP and BP communicates through some serial means)

2. Do we need to create two control paths.

One more assumption on this is:-
Instead of involving ETEL , can the Daemon directly communicate with C32 server for the connection between Mobile and PC and has the parsing capabilty of commands/data coming from PC and redirecting to baseband? In this case we are not using any PPP for connection between PC<->Mobile.

these all are my assumptions...please can anybody put some light on this.

thanks.
