IP Hook

Hi, I need to write a S60 3rd Edition application using the "IP Hook" API. If I understood correctly, I need to become a Symbian Platinium Partner and get the "Binary Access Kit" before I could build an application using this API. Could anybody please confirm this point? I have read the IP Hook documentation available at http://www.symbian.com/developer/techlib/v70sdocs/doc_source/reference/cpp/IPhook6/index.html but there is no mention of the Symbian capabilities used by these classes. I'm wondering if I won't be stuck with something I will never be able to get signed... Last but not least... does Nokia allow the installation of a third party IPHook on its S60 3rd Edition phone? Platinum partnership is quite costly and I would really appreciate if somebody could take the time to answer my few questions before I blindly send my money away Thanks! |

IP Hook is published only for partners so you'll need an agreement with Symbian but I don't know if Nokia will allow you to install a third party IPHook. I would say,the best thing you can do is to drop an email to

If you are only looking at HTTP I recommend just writing an http plugin, and not the iphook stuff.

You will need CommDD in addition to others, you need to have an ACS Publisher ID.
The exact capability set is the same and for C32.exe
