This is a strange question. What do you mean by "support for Bluetooth"? What do you want your program to do that you think it can't because UIQ3.1 has no Bluetooth support in your opinion?
You mean that the emulator environment does not support bluetooth. UIQ itself supports bluetooth in real devices, of course. There's a tutorial on NewLC.com showing how you can test BT apps on UIQ3.1. For UIQ3.3 this should be possible out of the box.
Yes I mean exactly the same thing. UIQ3.1 emulator does not support bluetooth
Since 2 weeks I am trying to test the bluetooth application on UIQ3.1. I have gone through that tutorial also (and all the tutorials that are there on this topic). I have also tried implementing it. It is only for S60. It does not work for UIQ 3.1.
Hi,
I am also facing similar problem in UIQ3.1 that bluetooth dongle is not connected to emulator.
But seeing at the replies you received from Andreas I am also confident that they will be able to guide us in this matter.
i think it require a specific bluetooth driver for UIQ 3.1.
You are right the tutorial specified above works for S60 and not for UIQ3.1
Pallavi: Have you tried follow "Step 4" in the tutorial here: http://www.newlc.com/using-bluetooth-symbian-uiq-3-sdk
instead of trying to do "In the emulator, go to Preferences > PAN (Personal Area Network)." that the S60-turorial instructs you to?
I have never tried setting this up, but that is what I would have tried.
The UIQ turorial do say "Since the UIQ SDK is has a poor UI for more subtle Bluetooth configuration [...]" after all.
Hi alh,
I have already tried "step 4" mentioned above. It displays bluetooth icon on Emulator status bar but when we click Search (ie. search for other bluetooth devices in range) it just blinks "Searching" till the emulator turns off.

I have created a bluetooth connectivity application. I want to test it on emulator using dongle. But it is not working in UIQ3.1.
When I start emulator : Control Panel -> Bluetooth -> Connect . It just blinks the message "Searching" till the emulator is switched off.
