I'm looking for how I can install both a symbian app and a midlet at the same time. Therefore I want to know if there's a way to install a midlet from a sis.

My target platform is specifically the motorola Z8 but if you have any other UIQ 3.0 or 3.1 knowledge that would be valuable here I think.

Here's what i've found so far:

Installing the jad/jar files using the FILEMIME sis directive:

Installing the jad/jar by invoking the phone's jad installer app:

So far it seems that FILEMIME doesn't work on the moto Z8. And I haven't had any success yet with the second option, but i'm about to experiment more and report back here.

Does anyone have any other relevant advice to share?

I had tried this very long back on S60 phones. I dont recall all the details, but I was not able to get the required results. Vaguely I remember it happened to be something to do with the way the device handled installations. In older devices it worked(as people on forums had claimed) but not on any of the newer devices. It presumably had something to do with a singular installer in the newer devices and it being engaged in the process, it was unable to cater to the other. Thats all I remember now Sad
