PhoneInfo is a free utility for Symbian S60 that displays several technical information about your phone: IMSI, IMEI, WLAN Id, Phone Id, S60 version, CPU, memory, screen resolution, available fonts, etc... In short, many information you don't need to know except if you are curious (and/or a developer!).
The application is Symbian Signed so you can use it on any of your phone (S60 3rd Edition and later).

Please note the application in itself is free but requires a registration. This will trigger the emission of a standard SMS to an english number for which you might be charged by your operator. The registration data includes your IMSI, IMEI and phone model. This will only be used by us for statistical purpose so that we can track the usage of the application.

and the cool thing it's approved by nokia! what statistical usage is the IMEI and IMSI are for? this is total BS.. !
The statistical usage we make is how many users, on which phone, and in which country. That is just something that any developer is interested in when he writes an application.
well IMEI won't give you the device model.. instead you can get the MachineUID or even the Model Number itself without the need to use IMEI. for the country, you won't need the IMSI.. use the MCC and MNC would should be sufficient to get the country and also the GSM Operator.. no need to get my International Mobile Subscriber Identity IMSI!

to me getting these data would be for the use of cloning devices/SIM Cards or selling the IMEI to swap for stolen phones.
Using the IMSI or IMEI allows to have a unique key for each user. Which is not the case for the MCC/MNC (and yes, we do get the machine uid through the registration SMS).
I think we can say we are an established company in mobile application development. We are not in the fake card business... We have decided to share this small utility application. In exchange, we just want to gather these statistics. We are not cheating you, what we do is quoted on this page and there is a confirmation step at first run.
If you don't like this or don't trust us, you are free not to use the application. And with a couple of days of coding, you will be able to write your own one.
Just now I installed Phoneinfo on my mobile.
Nice app good use of HAL apis :)but 4th tab "Fonts" UI is not proper, when you traverse between available fonts the related info is not coming properly (dont know in which language).
I hope its next version will be more perfect and will have some more interesting tabs
