strange error : Text length exceeds specified limit of 255

I hv two language files l01 [eng], l16 [russian].

in l01 I'm using strings of length > 500. compiler shows no error.
in l16 string > 250 shows error "Text length exceeds specified limit of 255"

any idea ?
