I found a new S60 series application called "FromSMS" that turns your S60 device into SMS interface for your web application.
You can download the client for free to your mobile and then you are able to send sms messages with up to 2000 characters through some web form, without using the mobiles' operator sms-service.
Not to forget to mention, that you may implement that web form to your own web application.
