Well honestly I dont know about E71.
So what Symbian9 is your OS exactly? For FP1 you can have something like this in your pkg
[0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}
You can always do one thing..generate a helloworld in the OS that your using(Use wizard to create it) and copy the corresponding line into this pkg file that you are using in your project...and one more thing: Check SDK documents package file details for that. this Product Id that you are referring to has nothing to do with the device, it is a platform related issue...so SDK docs are the best place to search for that.

Yes, actually this is a temporary way to test my software.

I need UID as I will release this software on E71. Hope I can get some replies from Nokia some day next week.

Thanks a lot for your help Neil.

Hi could somebody with access to an E71 tell me the iCode, iScanCode, modifier, repeats events issued when the key is pressed to launch the equivalent symbol map?
e.g.
keyEvent.iModifiers = ?;
keyEvent.iRepeats = ?;
keyEvent.iCode = ?;
keyEvent.iScanCode = ?;

I don't have access to an E71 at the moment so can't do this test myself. I'm testing on a remote device but only the standard alpha/numeric keypad is available. (I don't particularly want to buy an E71 just for this single test, and the last time I requested a loan device I waited 3 weeks, and got nothing.)

Basically, the E71 doesn't launch the usual symbol map when * is pressed like on other devices. I need to determine what the code has been changed to so I can launch it programatically by simulating the event like I did with the * scancode on other devices. I am assuming the key does indeed launch the symbol map.

Would be greatly appreciated.

cheers.

Paris.
