Is possible that some library used in 2nd isn't compatible with 3rd? Or is problem of rss?

Maybe if you say what exactly you did, somebody might have a suggestion for you!

Well, that's a problem all by itself. I made the experience that with complex systems like Symbian you almost never know for sure whether there is a way or not. Best thing you can do IMHO is try a certain amount of time to reach a goal in a certain way, and if you don't succeed, switch and try to find another way.

Of course it's perfectly possible that just *one* day after you changed nearly everything in your program to make the number of files small you will find a posting of somebody somewhere who writes "Just apply switch xyz, and all is well even with thousands of files", but I think you will have to take that risk...

Once again,I've told about your suggestion to the project manager and he replied if
there is no other way,it's ok.Still he is suprised that the previouse version do not have such a problem.

Maybe it's time, then, to talk again to the "project director" and ask whether he or she still oposes changing the whole data file structure, so that you will have a reasonable number of files...

I would really surprise me if somebody has experience about installing 500 files on a Symbian phone. Not me, anyway.

By the way, no need to be shy to start your own threads instead of appending your questions to threads that had a similar theme. With a new thread, your questions will immediately be recognized as new ones. And your English is ok, don't worry

Hi,
i work for porting one application from 2nd to 3rd.
In process of installation ,when %95 of program is installed,apear message "unable to install".I want to copy some files in private folder,(private/UID/foldername/filde.dat),and i have this problem when count of files are more than 500.
plz help me.

Is _UID3 in You registration file correct? Also check "icon-file" in your R_LOCALISABLE_APP_INFO (e.g. icon_file = "\\resource\\apps\\app.mif", maybe You forgot remove appname from path as Eric wrote above)...

Ok, I do this step:

1) abld cleanall;
2) bldmake bldfiles;
3) abld build gcce urel and when create icon it write:

MifConv version 1.11 build (39).
Checking: ..\gfx\app.svg
Choosing...
Convert files...
.
Loading mif icons...
Loading file: \Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1_2\epoc32\winscw\c\system\temp\s5sk.tmp\.._gfx_app.svgb
Writing mif: \Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1_2\epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\app.mif

Is correct??

but icon not appear

p.p.s on emuletor icon of my app not appear

Well, cant think of many suggestions. One more thing that I would try would be a 'really clean' build.
Did you check the console carefully to see anything mysterious, especially during creation of icon?

Am not sure, but a suggestion is you havent mentioned changing it in the registration file. So maybe that you could check too

I generate uid code in symbiansigned;
I copy/paste this in my application, in particular:
app.mmp (UID and SECUREID), app.pkg and app.h, but application not open, i don't undestand why

Ok, now message "installetion complete" appear, but icon is strange (I insert .mif ) and application don't start, It do nothing

Now, application compiled, but when installed sis on the phone appear message "Corrupted file" and application not installed, where is the problem?
