Nokia has just released a beta version of the N97 SDK. This SDK is suitable for C/C++, Java, WebRuntime and Python development. It introduce a dedicated emulator with N97 look and feel as well as new APIs available on this particular device.

The S60 5th SDK was available since a few month in a beta "v0.9" version. Forum Nokia has just released an updated "v1.0" version which introduces support for new APIs (like the cool transition APIs), new examples and fixes a few bugs.

Forum Nokia today released Carbide.vs 3.0, introducing the support of Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2005 IDE and latest S60 SDKs. Several small improvements have also been added to make Symbian development as simple as possible on the Microsoft IDE.

The beta version of the S60 Platform SDKs for Symbian OS, for Java has now been released by Forum Nokia. This latest edition provides support for a subset of JSR 248 that is crucial to harmonize the mobile Java platform across different vendors as well as several other enhancement (MIDP 2.1 supportn updated JSR-82, etc...)

Forum Nokia will stop selling the Nokia Codewarrior during 2008 and supporting it shortly after. The product hasn't evolved for a while and you shouldn't expect any new patches nor updates of Codewarrior. So get prepare to move to Carbide.c++ or buy a couple of extra licenses while it is still time!

Forum Nokia, Nokia's developer organization, is hosting a VoIP and WLAN Deep Dive at the Nokia Headquarters in Espoo, Finland on September 12th.
