Tuny Engine is a cross-platform real-time audio system for mobile games and applications. Currently it supports Symbian OS, Windows Mobile and PC. Tuny Engine is free for non-commercial projects.

Feature Set

  • Built-in high quality software MIDI synthesizer.
    • Play two MIDI music and many sampled sounds at the same time.
    • Better sound quality than most system's built-in MIDI player.
    • Playback of MIDI music on Symbian emulator, Windows Mobile emulator is supported.
    • Identical audio output on all mobile devices and emulators. No worry about different MIDI output on different devices any more!
  • Two MIDI channels allow you to play a background MIDI and a foreground SFX MIDI simultaneously.
  • Unlimited number of software mixing channels. Plays as many SFXs as you want simultaneously.
  • High quality mixing, including volume ramping and resampling with linear interpolation.
  • Well designed API, intuitive and easy to use for game developers.

Supported File Format

-  WAV (Microsoft Wave files). Mono/Stereo 8-bit/16-bit PCM and 4-bit IMA-ADPCM format with any sample rate are supported.
-  MID (Standard MIDI files). Format 0 and format 1 are supported.
-  RMI (Microsoft MIDI files). Format 0 and format 1 are supported.
