I've downloaded and installed NDS in my PC and my laptop (both are using Visual Studio .NET 2003).

After the installation, I *cannot* compile any C++ programs any more (even MFC programs). VS complains cannot spawn cl.exe, cannot find nmake.exe, etc.

I don't why it happens in my PC and my laptop. But just in case you have the same problem, fix your VS settings by selecting Tools | Options | Projects | Visual C++ Directories. Add $(VCInstallDir)bin and $(VSInstallDir)Common7\IDE.

Hope this helps.

Anyway, the tools is great!

I have same problem.

Even if I fix VS settings how Antony said.

The problem continues.

My VS. NET 2003 version is Spanish.

Any solution ?

anyone had a problem where when you try to use any part of the nds it throws an exception about SDKConfigurator?

I suspect it is because of some environment thing or another being wrong, wrong version of .net or whatever.. but it should all be ok(it shouldn't have installed even if it hadn't been).

Hi,

NDS only supports the English version of Visual Studio, that explains the prob's with the Spanish version.

As for issues with the SDK config throwing exceptions, that is an indication that there is no SDK installed on your PC, try to download and install a supported SDK to remedy the issue.

Hope this helps, H

Hi,

I used Visual Studio .NET 2003 and carbide_vs_201 together with S60 2nd Ed FP2. It worked fine!

Now I want to use VS .NET 2003 and carbide_vs_201 together with S60 2nd Ed FP3, but it doesn't work. I can't select the WINS version of the FP3 SDK. The strange thing is that in the release note for carbide_vs_201, it says that it supports S60 3rd Ed SDK.

So if it supports 2nd Ed FP2 and 3rd Ed, why doesn't it support 2nd Ed FP3 that is released in between?

When downloading the S60 2nd Ed FP3 SDK I'm told to use the Nokia Developer Suite 1.1 plugin with VS .NET 2003. So I installed this plugin (without uninstalling carbide_vs_201 first). Durring the installation I got a warning that some of the files to be installed were older than existing ones so I selected to not install these. In VS I then got a new "Import Symbian Project..." menu choice. When using this I can select the FP3 WINS version. But when I build my project (that built ok on FP2 WINS) it fails. It seams like the project resource isn't created (missing project .rsg file). When I reopen the project in VS, I'm informed that the project is going to be updated to Carbide 2.0 format, but this failes because the project xml file already exists.

Should I have uninstalled Carbide before the installation of NDS?

Can you please help me? :)

Cheers Stefan

Hi all,

does anybody know, which SDK should I use with NDS. I downloaded all SDKs marked as 'for CW and .NET 2003' on Nokia forum. But when NDS asks for enable/disable SDK, I'm not enable any of the SDKs. The only one which works is 2nd ed FP3 beta. Should I use SDKs for vc6/borland?

Thank you MiKeL

NDS 1.1 refuses to install if I have not previously installed Visual Studio .NET 2003. But I've installed more recent Visual Studio 2005. Any suggestions?

Switch back to VS .NET 2003. It looks like VS 2005 is not (yet) supported.
