I'm a big fan of Simon Judge's blog, Mobile Phone Development, and I read his article about Q3/2007 Smartphone Market Share with great interest. I agree with his findings, however, I would add my own thoughts to it, too.

Microsoft has just released a Service Pack 4 for eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0. This service pack allows existing eVC4 users to target Windows CE 5.0 based devices. In addition to supporting the new Windows CE 5.0 platform, SP4 is cumulative in nature and includes support for Windows CE 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 based platforms as well.

Microsoft has just opened registration to the MEDC 2006 Europe that will occur in Nice, France, in June 2006. MEDC 2006 is Microsoft's premier Windows Mobile and Embedded developer training event and offers you a technical oversight of Microsoft Mobile and Embedded technologies.

Symbian Limited today announced that it has licensed the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync protocol for use in Symbian OS. Under the terms of the agreement, Symbian will develop an Exchange Server ActiveSync protocol - plug-in - for the Symbian OS messaging architecture.
