Symbian Limited today welcomes NTT DoCoMo’s launch of the FOMA D905i and the FOMA SH905i which are based on Symbian OS™ and started shipping in Japan today. The FOMA D905i, a slide mobile enabled for "One-segment" terrestrial digital broadcasting and highlight playback, is manufactured by Symbian customer Mitsubishi Electronics Cooperation. The FOMA SH905i, a 16.9 mm slim "One-segment" terrestrial digital broadcasting mobile, is manufactured by Symbian customer Sharp Cooperation. Both mobiles include the MOAP platform.

Symbian today announced that Symbian OS™, the leading open standard based operating system for advanced mobile phones, is used in the NTT DoCoMo FOMA™ D902i. The FOMA D902i is manufactured by Symbian OS licensee Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

Sharp Corporation and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Japan today jointly announced an agreement to co-develop the base software and to share selected hardware for 3G FOMA mobile phones for NTT DoCoMo, Inc.
