I notice that when I use BitBlt outside of the dimensions of the HBITMAP associated with the HDC, it seems to cut off correctly without crashing the application. Is BitBlt actually that smart, that I can blit at -20 -20 if I want to clip the source.

Or DrawEllipse() into a bitmap gc and then bitblt the resulting bitmap...

Hi Eric,
Thxs for reply. Sorry 4 tht multiple posts. I thought if I post in network & Multimedia section I may get solution. Well, problem is I'm using the LBSSample symbian application in my device & I'm downloading the static google map image. Now I want to user should able to scroll the image left side /right/up/down & in mean time I should calculate new lat/long coordinate of the image center so that I can download new image.If possible give me any solution or any document related to this problem. Thanks in advance.

Please do not post the same question several time.

What is your problem about ? Scrolling inside image ? OR computing the lat/long coordinate of the center ?

you can also directly write your MBM like this:-

START BITMAP MyMbm.mbm
HEADER
TARGETPATH \system\apps\MyCode
SOURCEPATH ..\Bitmaps

SOURCE C24 1.bmp
SOURCE C24 1_mask.bmp
SOURCE C24 2.bmp
SOURCE C24 2_mask.bmp
SOURCE C24 3.bmp
SOURCE C24 3_mask.bmp

as it is giving that it is "" i t is not recognize as internal or external command."" like that

Hi Pankaj.gupta,

please find below example:-

bmconv.exe /hmbmheader.mbg icons.mbm /c24new_message.bmp /1new_message_mask.bmp /c16settings.bmp /c16questionmark.bmp

C24 is for 24bit BMP
C16 is for 16bit BMP.likewise

_L is there for backwards compatibility, but you shouldn't use it since it has a runtime penalty (you need to construct a TPtr at runtime), as _LIT is done at compile time.

Yeah, but since _L has been deprecated for quite a time, _LIT is the preferred one.

BitBltMaksed is used to draw images , DrawEllipse() would be more Apt. Saves having to load an image.
