Thank you for your opinion. Most of users claim that well known brand is indeed very important for the app's success on the market.

Thanks to the user’s comment I have got to know about one more task manager application from Smartphoneware called Best TaskMan. I havn't distributed any mobile applications myself, but from what I've heard (from friends doing mobile games), the number one deciding factor is visibility of the app on the download site.

That is... if its at the top, it will be downloaded.
If its not, noone will find it.

The user doesn't care about the brand, unless it is a really well known one like Nike, Coca Cola or Harry Potter...

So, its a bit of a Catch 22.

Handy has a smart strategy in that they call all their apps "Handy XXX", which makes it easy for the user to find other apps from them, if he or she liked another product they made.
