One thing the analysts often forget is that there isn't actually any one "linux smartphone" system out there.

There is though a lot of phones that use a system that is built ontop of linux... But most of these are actually more feature phones then smart phones (no possibility for 3rd party apps etc)
And most of those systems is also (almost) just as closed as the manufacturers normal feature phone systems.

There is only two true linux based phone os:es that fit the smartphone criteria imo.
These are the OpenMoko, and the OHA. None of them with any real phones on the market.

Thanks! But could you please elaborate why you don't agree with me? It's a forum, it is just THE right place to discuss about things like this analysis. I'm eager to know other people's opinion, especially if they're from China.

I'm a big fan of Simon Judge's blog, Mobile Phone Development, and I read his article about Q3/2007 Smartphone Market Share with great interest. I agree with his findings, however, I would add my own thoughts to it, too.
