Even if Siemens wanted to create an OS upgrade for such ancient hardware, they wouldn't be able to (as they sold their mobile phone parts to BenQ who closed down that part of their business).

In other words, the Siemens SX1 is based on Symbian 6.1 and Series 60 1.2 (S60 1st Edition) now and for all eternity. If you want to use a newer version of Symbian, you need to get a newer device.

Symbian phones are not PCs.

Each symbian build has to be engineered for the specific device it is to run on, so you can only get updates from the licensee that made the phone, in your case siemens.
New OS version is out of the question. (not theoretically, but practically)

Or did I misunderstand what you wanted to upgrade?
