Hi Tote!

I ve almost reached my goal...

The only thing, the lower versions of symbian os devices accpet the base64 format only instead of PKCS12 format.
So, we have to get the private key n certificate from that PKCS12 key format through IE options(Select the certificate n export it).

I m tring to do this one.Actually, My PKCS12 key format doesnt export the private keys.
So, i created the client key n certificate using "makekeys" key generator n take it as to server side.
I m trying to fix this one.Coz, i ve to convert this key n certificate into PEM format.THen only we can do use on server side.

Hi Tote!

I implemented the https connection.
Using PKCS12 key format.

My certications is working on server when you accessed from the server machine itself( ie,https://localhost:8443/).

If we ll access from the other machine's browser like firefox,IE, etc.., its not working.

I imported the server certificate n client PKCS12 key into client browser.Bt its not working.
I am still working on it.

if you found anything on these issues, plz tell to me!!

I am using keytool n openssl to generate the key , certificate n self-signed CA from the ref. of these documents,

i mn't getting the proper client key , ie PKCS12 format key.
I m struggling to import the P12 format key into keystore.

I simply don't know. It should be okay, perhaps you have to use the client certificate in a certain format (PKCS#12?), but which format that you have to dig it out yourself. I'm interested in your findings, however.

Sorry for the late reply.

Yesterday, i did the https connection for my application.

Whenever, the application give the request to remote server , my application is pop-up a window to say "The site has sent untrusted certificate!continue anyway?".

I created certificates on my remote server.Now, i am implementing the client certificate n bring into the device.

In server side, i m using the OpenSSL to create the certificates n key for both client n server.

Can i use this clint certificate on device?

Hmm, I'm surprised to see that, because if the domain name resolution works fine for http, then it should work for https as well.

Did you try to find examples in your SDK that process https URLs?

Those guys always do magics. But honestly, I suspect they handle some sort of error/status messages received from http framework and act upon it accordingly (whatever that means).

Have you already check it out if there is an API for the system certificate store in your SDK? Look for cert, certification, certstore, etc.

In theory, you don't need to bother with sockets. You just need to submit e.g. a GET request to a URL with an https scheme (https://secure.site.com/index.html) and it's that simple. In theory. I'm interested, though, if it's really that simple - I haven't done anything similar yet.

Ya, the SDK has authentication filter.

Now , We are planning to change our remote server to https server.
So, How ll i implement my application to access the https sites.

Can i do access it frm RConnection class or i need to implement the Sockets in my application.

Good. It means that the authentication filter is part of the SDK.

I include the ecom("${EPOCROOT}epoc32\include\ecom") into the system Include Path. Then. i complied.Now its working.

I think, The SDK doesn't contain the authenticationfilterinterface.

I complied my application on SDK FP3. Here also , i m getting the same error what did i face on FP2.

Currently, i m using RConnection class n MHTTPTransactionCallback for making connection and receivving the datra from the remote server.

Can i use the CSeureSocket class for making the secure HTTP connection.

If yes, hw can i bind the RConnection with RSocket n CSeureSocket class instances.

Coz, In the secure socket example , they didnt use the RConeection class.

Can u clear my doubts?

Hehh,

It seems that some components still try to find cauthenticationfilterinterface.h in the SDK even though it's not published.

Try to remove the header file from the include statements and see if it works. I guess it won't, but there shouldn't be any problem after the full removal of authenticationfilterinterface. I see, though, that your problem will not be solved as it's exactly the same thing that you wanted to use (i.e. the authentication filter). Please, tell me if this filter is available in the SDK or not. I doubt, but who knows?

Hi,

We are using the remote server to get the data!
We found the solution for this error.Actually , This is server side props.First they are getting the request than they are excepting to handle the headers.

If we cancel the request before the cilent sends the headers to server, The server will receive empty header.So, its throwing the null pointer exception.
