yes, I agree with the remarks above.

As I was based in China and I am a Chinese, I think what the post said is absolutely wrong. Chinese governent has never ruled and will never rule such restrictions on 'commericial/capitalist' phones. There is a potential consumer group which smart phones could target and Nokia, Sonyeircsson have delivered a number of such products to the mainland market. But I admit that sale scales is not as high as in European and American markets.

I was not aware that Symian has opened an office in China. if it is true, I think it is a good news for Chinese developer communities.

If you post the URL to the industry analysis web site, or at least quote what they say, exactly, we could comment on that.

Either their interpretation or how you understood what they wrote is incorrect.

There are phones using Symbian, Windows Mobile, PalmOS, (and proprietary phone operating systems, too), made and sold in China.

That includes actual Chinese manufacturers (such as Lenovo) making Symbian or Windows based phones.
