Dynamic identification at runtime?

Has anyone found a straightforward way of checking these platform UIDs at runtime as well? I know about the EMachineUid method for identifying specific phone models, but for compatibility with future devices it would be better if one could also check for, a generic 'Series 60 2nd Edition Feature Pack 2' device.

Is there UID representing ANY Symbian device, that I could use for creating SIS file?

Imagine I want to write a plugin or recognizer - something that works on any Symbian phone. But since I have to specify different uid for S60 / UIQ / etc, it's impossible to create common SIS file. Any idea?
