Hi!

Does anybody know how to bring Idle screen to foreground? I cannot find its UID or app name.
When I send my application to background, display returns to the Menu but I need Idle screen.

Please can u explain me in brief about ur code. I want to know what should be the iWindowsGroupId. whether we should give any value for it.

Or can u help me in writing a code for moving any of our nokia applications to foreground from another application. Please Its urgent.

hello,
i send my aplication to background by anyway. but when i get it to forground by pressing icon
of that application, it crashes after few(5 to 10) seconds.

Hi, I don't want that my application(S60, 3rd Edition) should go in background after pressing "email" key in E61 and pressing "music key" in N91. I can't able to capture these hardware keys, so please help me how can I keep my applicaton in foreground even though after pressing "emai" key or music key.

Hello All,

(Coding for Symbian S60 phones)

My application 'A' invokes browser-> Now browser is in focus-> Incoming call event occurs->Both 'A' and 'browser' loose focus-->Call Ended-->Browser gets focus-->Browser exited --> Ideally 'A' should gain the focus.

However HandleForegroundEventL in 'A' is not getting called and 'A' does not come to focus in the above scenario.

Any expert, pls let me know how get my application 'A' back to focus.

Hi All, I' m using text shell with out any UI components, but i have to capture all the keyevents in an exe. I tried to connect RWsSession but it generates e32user-base 65 panic.... please let me know any means of doing it.... thanks in advance Ramesh

Hi Eric!!!! i am writing an application for voice post it, i mean something like voice reminder (reminder reminds in the recorded voice fromat ) the GUI and recorder engine is ready but i am not getting how to approach the reminding at user input time.I mean how the user is reminded when the user input time expires. this appliaction cannot be stand alone. since i am new to symbian need help to approch this problem,plz help me. this is urgent ......plz plz plz

Edit your MMP file so that your app links against the library that contains the missing class.

I can't connect to the RWsSession. I get the following error

error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: int __thiscall RWsSession::Connect(void)"

Well, I have an application developed on Symbian C++. I am trying to test it on the Series 60 emulator. Say my application name is "MyApp". As soon as emulator comes up, it will have all the application say PhoneBook,Socket,etc including "MyApp". I will select my application "MyApp" and then start the application by selecting few menus. Application goes to background automatically. I have used your code task.SendToBackground() for this purpose. Immediately main menu i.e the same menu which appeared when i started the emulator gets the focus.

What i am trying to do is to bring my application "MyApp" to the foreground after some time say 10seconds. For that i am referring your code. Unfortunately applicaton crashes after calling BringToForeground() function. I observed that none of the functions inside BringToForeground() crashes. Instead it crashes after few seconds of getting out of that function. If i don't call BringToForeground() my application will be in the background and works fine. That means there is some thing wrong in BringToForeground() function.

Code sniffet

void MyAppUi::SendToBackground() TApaTaskList tasklist(iCoeEnv->WsSession()); TApaTask task(tasklist.FindApp(_L("MyApp"))); task.SendToBackground(); The above code sends "MyApp" to the background perfectly.

void MyAppUi::BringToForeground() TApaTask task(iEikonEnv->WsSession( )); task.SetWgId(CEikonEnv::Static()->RootWin().Identifier()); task.BringToForeground();

Calling above method BringToForeground() creates problem after few seconds. But my application has already received focus. I am not able to understand why application crashes if i use BringToForeground() method.

If anybody has any idea, please let me know.
