Actually I came across this in W3Schools' .NET Mobile Tutorial - thats why I asked.

I don't know what you mean with ".NET Mobile", exactly, but ".NET" means many things (run-time, specific Microsoft products with ".NET" in their name, etc.)

Primarily on Windows XP and later, it means the "full" .NET run-time environment (Framework), related APIs & services, intermediate language, etc.

For Windows CE (Windows Mobile in either the later "Smartphone" or "Pocket PC" variants) ".NET" means the .NET Compact Framework (CF) as a subset of the "full" framework.
