Hi

Does any one here thinks that launch of iPhone can be a threats to the Symbian market. I personally feel it will have some effect, eventhough it might be a closed device, but the brand value is quite high and device looks really good. So if i go in the market to look for a new phone i surely will have a look on the iPhone besides N series from nokia.
Wat do experts say....

Closed ...
That's why I'll never buy one and prefer a symbian or another "open" system.

No, it is based on a tailored version of MacOS X - so it is Unix (BSD) based.
Regarding developers, it looks like it will be a closed device. Might be possible to add widgets but probably not full native applications.

It has been a rumour for years and it is now official: Apple iPhone is finally here and it looks like an innovative device with great look and UI : the minimum you can expect from a company like Apple and yet another potential killer device.
