Unsigned Symbian applications to be removed from Sony Ericsson Application Shop
23 Dec 2004 - 10:31

Sony Ericsson encourages all smartphone users to download and install signed applications only, and from July 1, 2004, all new Symbian applications submitted for commercial distribution to the Sony Ericsson Application Shop will be required to have passed the Symbian Signed certification. In support of Symbian Signed, Sony Ericsson will from that date offer preferential positioning to Symbian Signed applications on its download portals. As of January 1, 2005, all Symbian applications distributed through Sony Ericsson consumer channels must be Symbian Signed. Developers are required to make sure their applications have been properly tested and provided with digital signing prior to distribution.
