Active Users
With the reunification of the editorial site and the forum, we are now able to identify easily our best contributors (aka active users). The two new blocks on the left (one is currently not visible) shows you the people which have contributed the most to the site in the last 30 days and for the last month. I will probably be hard to beat for the "All-time most active users" (at least within the coming year !) but becoming a known "Active user" is definitely possible.
Here is how to increase your score (by decreasing importance):
- post a tutorial
- post a news, a review or a blog entry.
- post a software download (note that we don't accept pages with just 10 lines of text and a URL in this section, you have to give more information about your software, what it does and include at least a couple of screenshot).
- answer to a forum question
- post a question in the forum or comment a tutorial / news / review / etc...
Posting a tutorial which is published will give you a certain amount of point (10 at the time being, but we may adjust in the future), a news/review/blog entry slightly less, .. down to 1 point for a question posted in our forums.
So be active, we are trying to setup some nice incentive for our most active contributors!

Hi Eric, I met problem of my account. when I tried to upload a new picture as my logo, the old picture
always appeared. Even I have deleted the old picture after I uploading a new one, the old one will still
be displayed. Could you help me to check this? Thank you.

I observe today that points of active users automatically decreases...... what happened I don't understand this??

Actually, the Active Users (last 30 days) panel which is shown on the left tab only counts the points you have earned o nthe last 30 days. So if you haven't post much recently then you will see your score decreasing. Total points earned do not change internally so you have earned your points... so only the panel shown do not take into account all your points.

ok eric,
but first it increases and after some time score was decreases today. i saw ur score that time 175 but u see now it shows 167.
and i don't think u have not posted recently.........

Hi eric,
Do we have a feature on NewLC to identify whether a certain user is "OnLine" or not?
I think this feature was there earlier but since some time it has been removed.
Can we have this facility again?

Active Users is already active... We did not publicize it yet but some of our best users got a small present to thank them for their contributions (actually it was bottles of good french wine). If you are often listed in the "Active Users" panel on the left side of the site, you can expect to be next !

I am in need of files to be downloaded from AppTestLite page.
But download was denied since i am not a active user.
Is there any alternative method?

Just noticed this!! Been here for long(and been among the top in Active users for quite a long time now), but havent seen received anything except a very satisfying 'thank you' from a few of those who received help from me

We haven't forgot this... but this is now run without much public advertisement. Ask rbrunner or alh which have been our first rewarded users ! Don't worry, I can see that you are now on the top list.
