SysExplorer - the universal file explorer for Symbian OS
18 juill. 2006 - 23:39

sysexplorer-s60-2-2.pngWe are proud to announce the availability of the beta version of our SysExplorerutility. SysExplorer is yet another file explorer for Symbian OS, but unlike most of its competitors it runs on almost all Symbian OS powered devices (ok, at least on S60 v2 and v3, S80 v2 and UIQ v2 and v3 devices [1], which is still not bad).

The application features:
-  a file browser with dual simple / extended view (only file name is shown in the simple view while the extended view adds its size and time stamp).
-  easy navigation (2 / 4 way cursor key and direct navigation using alphabetic keyboard)
-  file viewer (through external viewer, to be enhanced soon)
-  copy / cut / paste
-  rename
-  phone hardware information
-  and a lot more to come!

Application is not supported nor available anymore..

[1] The UIQ v3 version will be available in the coming weeks

Is it possible to access the protected folders on the 3rd Edition? Is it possible to transfer the files via bluetooth?

S.

It is not yet possible to send file over Bluetooth but this is scheduled for a next update.

And the application won't let you access the private folders as it does not have the proper capabilities.

The protection of our server is a bit sensitive with the format of the HTTP requests and squid often triggers this protection. Don't know why.

I Can't Install to my N-Gage QD...

How is the screen colour depth calculated? Sysexplorer reports my N80 as having a 16.7 million colour screen. According to Nokia (www.nseries.com) the screen is 262k colours. What's correct?

Nokia is probably right. SysExplorer get the Hal data which should be the bitdepth rather than the actual number of colors.

When will be UIQ 3 version released?

Evil Why i can,t download this file ?

Soumis par Michal Jerz / My-Symbian.com (non vérifié) le jeu, 2006-07-20 04:01.

SysExplorer reports incorrect CPU speed. The ECPUSpeed value read from HAL is in kHz (kilohertz). To get MHz (megahertz) you should divide it by 1000 and not 1024 because 1 MHz = 1000 kHz and not 1024 kHz. Because of this SysExplorer incorrectly shows 201 MHz for e.g. N80 or E61 (should be 206 MHz) or 229 MHz for 3250 (should be 235 MHz).

BTW. Your downloads page is not accessible.

I am not able to install on a Nokia E70. The install process is aborted with the following message: "Update error!" That is after I pressed "continue" twice.

I tried to select all files and directories from Z: (total 4 dirs and 1 file) and copy them to E:\z.

But in E:\z there were only 1 file and 4 EMPTY directories.

Maybe some problem with recursive walk of directories.

Another problem: I went to menu Tools > Enable ext. error but got error Access denied.

Using version 0.21 on Nokia 3250
