Series 60 phones benchmark: Conclusion

Conclusion
in

The following graph is a summary of all tests described in the previous pages. The SPMark 04 value is a synthetic conclusion of the whole benchmark, the 3D Score reflects the result of the three 3D tests and the System Score the results of the 2D graphics and file/agenda/contact tests:

The conclusion is easy: if you want a top-class Series 60 device, choose the Nokia 6630: it is the quickest device in all test thanks to its 220Mhz ARM10 CPU and it is also the only device of this test that supports 3G protocol.

My second choice would be the Nokia 6670. An alternative could be the [Nokia 7610, which perform similarly and has very close feature set (118g, megapixel camera, Series 60 v2.1,...). Just check that you feel comfortable with its keyboard which is not my case.

The Nokia 6260 was the big deception of this test. Choose it if you really want a clamshell phone and check that you are OK with the position of the camera and the keyboard layout (which is pretty good...except for the left softkey).

SX1 routed 6600 axaxaxax ***Bu arada bu da kapak olsun 6600'cılara*** I can't explain it in English srry.. if i translate it's so meaningless in English , cause it's a special phrasel verb. Translation of the sentence ***This is the cover to 6600 fans.*** what it mean..... nothing.!

> Series 60 phones benchmark: Conclusion

Nothing special. The results were very predictable. The hardware in nokia's is changed too rare. You can see that here http://xtin.km.ru/files/ComparisonRelease.htm For example: difference in results of 6600 and 6260 is caused only by firmware code, because the hardware is almost identical.

Almost all the Symbian-based smartphones are based on OMAP chips. Nokia just have the specially modified OMAP processors. So, such comparison allows just to understand which phone's software is most robust.

> Series 60 phones benchmark: Conclusion

could you also possibly provide a table with numeric results, rather than graphs only. perhaps you could also mention a version of firmware each phone is running (it IS important)

> Series 60 phones benchmark: Conclusion

The firmware version has been added on the table in the first page. I will add the numeric result when I have a little bit more time.

Thanks for your feedback.

I have a 6620 here in the US... Does anyone know how this compares to the 6600 and 6630??

> Series 60 phones benchmark: Conclusion

I've test viewfinder performance of 6670 and 6600, the result surprised me. 6600 has much higher framerate, at 160x120, 25fps, 320x240 15fps, while 6670 has only poor 7fps at both 160x120 and 320x240.

Does 6670 has a lower bandwidth between camera and cpu?

Series 60 phones benchmark: Conclusion

Hi,

Will anybody be able to share the test suite for these tests? I need to test on some more devices?
