Sasken today announced that it has joined the Symbian Competence Center Program to support the growing market for smartphones based on Symbian OS™. As a Symbian Competence Center, Sasken is extending its services and technology portfolio into the Symbian OS ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today's most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers and in 2004, more than 14 million phones based on Symbian OS were shipped worldwide.
