PC-Suite update

Nokia has released a major update of PC-Suite, v6.5, with a lot of end user enhancement and a major point for developers.

New Features

-  Get Connected wizard: New step-by-step wizard required for setting up a Bluetooth connection between your phone and a compatible PC. Also assists with infrared and cable connections.
-  One Touch Access to Internet: Use your phone as a quick and easy Internet modem for your compatible PC (Requires GPRS or 3G-enabled phone).
-  Image Store: Automatically retrieve new images and videos from your phone when you connect to your compatible PC.
-  Compatibility with the forthcoming PC-Suite SDK that would allow developers to add new synchronisation features.

Improvements

-  USB driver installation is now Microsoft-certified
-  Improved synchronization for the Nokia 9300 device and Nokia 9500 Communicator
-  Improved stability for the Nokia Audio Manager application
-  Improved connection handling and status information
-  Improved contacts backup
-  Improved usability for multimedia format conversion
-  Easier setup of Bluetooth connection

Compatibility

All Nokia Series 60/80/90 devices except Nokia 7650, Nokia 3650/3660, Nokia 6600, Nokia N-Gage and Nokia 9210.

I would say that this software is just incompatible with their older phones. I just switch from a 6600 to a 9300 : PC-Suite and the overall synchronisation is now quite OK. And its compatible with all recent phones: that is a big progress. Remember the old times when you have to use the N-Gage version for the N-Gage, the 6600 version for the 6600... That was bad for a developer!
